CNC MACHINIST - Yankton, SD

Charles F Day & Associates are recruiting CNC Machinist candidates for our Midwest Client. Candidates will work on 2ndshift. Client prefers local candidates.
Summary: The candidate will work under the supervision of the Machine Shop Department Supervisor and in cooperation with the Department Leader

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Set up and operate Machine Shop machines to close tolerances.
2. Determine feed, speed, tooling, and operating sequences as prescribed in drawings, layout, or other specifications.
3. Perform a series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances, and finish specifications, requiring skill and a broad knowledge of machining techniques, blueprint reading, shop mathematics, and basic machine shop skills.
4. This position involves, but is not limited to, the operation of the following machines:
Manual Lathes, Saws, Small and Large Drill, Key Seater, Broach, Threading Machine, CNC, Machining Centers, Horizontal, and Vertical Lathes.
5. Performs, or assists, in the some general maintenance of machines as directed and maintains area in accordance with Department housekeeping standards.
6. Job requires using a computer mouse to access and open/close computer documents.
7. All duties are performed in compliance with Company policies relating to safety and housekeeping.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ability to use general machining tools and equipment.
2. Ability to work in conditions associated with a medium to heavy industrial machine shop.
3. Ability to setup; check or monitor work, and remove parts being machined.
4. Ability to push/pull minimum required to secure parts in jig, etc.
5. Primary work assignment will require employees to be able to frequently push/pull/lift up to 45 pounds.
6. Ability to read and interpret necessary information and instructions or specifications required to machine parts. Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files.

Education/Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience
